Shiatsu - the finger pressure massage

Shiatsu is a holistic, manual form of bodywork treatment that has its roots in the Tuina massage technique of TCM.

Shiatsu literally means "finger pressure", and has a deep relaxing effect on BODY-SOUL-MIND.

As in TCM, in Shiatsu I work with the 12 main energy channels (meridians) and the corresponding tsubos (acupuncture points).

I treat on the floor on a futon (mat), on the clothed body (comfortable, loose clothing).

If necessary, I also work on a treatment couch.

I start the treatment with a preliminary talk about physical complaints or particularities, followed by a pulse-tongue diagnosis and a diagnosis of the energy zones on the body. In Shiatsu I work with the use of my body weight, the thumb, the heel of the hand, the knee, the elbow with rotation and stretching.

The aim is to remove possible blockages and stagnation, to harmonise your energy flow, to activate your self-healing powers, as well as to alleviate current complaints and problems.

The Shiatsu treatment lasts about one hour and is based on your current needs and state of health.

Symptoms that can be treated with a Shiatsu therapy (concomitantly) are:

  • Head and neck pain - Migraine
  • Back pain
  • Digestive problems
  • Sleep disorders and fatigue
  • Stress and life crises
  • Burnout
  • Breathing problems and asthma
  • Depressive mood

Shiatsu connects the physical, mental and spiritual levels and helps you in times of small and big changes or upheavals.

Please note: I would like to point out that my work in no way replaces the diagnosis or treatment of a doctor or alternative practitioner.
